Experience Requirements
Required: Minimum of 3 Years
Preferred: Minimum of 5 Years
Experience Details: Minimum of 3 years of related experience is required, of which 1 year in within the division is required.
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards

The Research and Training Specialist is responsible for conducting research for complex billing and payment inquiries and providing information and facts to members. This position also trains and audits employees on operational processes, policies and procedures within the department to meet quality assurance and productivity standards.
Essential Functions
- Conducts research for complex internal and external billing and payment inquiries.
- Researches inconsistencies with billing or systems errors by reviewing current or purged records, then provides communication to effectively relay research and facts.
- Provides frontline customer service assistance over the phone.
- Conducts one-on-one training with new and existing employees regarding department procedures, policies and established guidelines. Assists with updating training materials and notifies and instructs internal staff of changes.
- Conducts quality assurance audits of daily tasks including but not limited to: refunds, premium billing and correspondence documentation.
- Conducts regular one-on-one meetings with service team members to review findings and provides feedback to leadership on monitoring results.
- Processes daily and monthly finance and cancellation reports. Researches and processes non-payment cancellations of individual plans and any check requests from various outside entities.
- Performs manual updates, report investigation and resolution.
- Serves as a resource for internal and external customers and follows-up on directives that may affect daily operations.
- Participates in cross-functional meetings and/or workgroups.
