Evening Anchor

WDAY-TV, the ABC affiliate in Fargo, North Dakota is looking for an Evening Anchor for our 5pm and 9pm newscasts.

Join our team and work in a multi-platform newsroom. You will anchor and help produce both show and fill-in on the 6pm and 10pm when need. The successful candidate should have at least one year of anchoring experience, exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills.

WDAY is an Emmy award winning, locally owned and operated station that covers eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. We produce more than 30 hours of local news each week. We have a staff of over 35 journalists working in news, weather and sports. Our newsroom includes spacious work areas for each employee, a makeup room, meeting spaces and a hangout area complete with couches and televisions. The metro population is over 240,000, including the cities of Fargo and West Fargo in North Dakota and Moorhead and Dilworth in Minnesota. Fargo has a vibrant downtown with many activities and events geared towards young professionals. The community hosts many major concert, sporting, and community events throughout the year. There are a variety of styles of apartments to choose from, including several new apartment buildings in several new neighborhoods. The communities have plenty of options for shopping; from local specialty shops to major retailers.

Position Requirements

• Must have exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills.
• Must have 1 year of anchoring experience at a commercial broadcast station.
• Must be creative, hard working and a self starter.
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Able to work well with others, under pressure and with strict deadlines.
• Prompt and reliable attendance.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a driving record that is insurable by the Company.
• Must have a reliable vehicle with an acceptable level of insurance coverage.
