The position researches and communicates technical agronomic information on sugarbeet quality and production to the entire Agriculture staff and the shareholders of ACSC, ensures the continuation and quality of the Grower Practices System, and provides technical assistance to the Vice President-Agriculture and other Operating Committee members regarding the Company's agronomic issues.

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides shareholders and other industry contacts with research and quality improvement information through published material, presentations and information developed for the Ag Internet site.
  • Provides assistance to Agronomy Managers, Agriculturists and shareholders in solving specific technical problems.
  • Communicates pertinent agronomic information from various sources, to all members of the Agriculture Department and shareholders.
  • Develops and refines agronomic recommendations for continued sugar beet quality improvement.
  • Ensures the Grower Practice System is accurate, current and providing pertinent information for the production of high quality sugar beets.
  • Develops training programs for the agronomy and Beet Seed staff that meet specific needs to keep abreast of changes in agronomic practices and technology.
  • Leads in the development and communication of agronomic "Gold Standards" to shareholders.
  • Represents the Company at industry agronomic related meetings as requested.


Minimum Requirements

  • Master's of Science Degree in soils, agronomy or a related agricultural science
  • Several years work experience in the sugarbeet industry.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are essential in communicating technical information to both agriculture staff and shareholders.
  • Human relations skills are essential.
