Hiring Department:  Admissions

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $38,325/annual  Benefitted, Non-Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM; may require some nights and weekends.

The purpose of this position is to:
 

  • Provide leadership for the student call center, campus visits, and special events.
  • Work alongside the Visit Coordinator to ensure campus visits and events are staffed appropriately and provide an exceptional student experience.
  • Work with University Admissions units and campus departments to coordinate visits and manage inquiries.
  • Take the lead in working with a team of students who are responsible for answering incoming communications and providing customer and student support. This position is an integral part of the University Admissions unit that provides initial contact and service to our customers and plans prospective student events.
  • Work in close cooperation with the Assistant Vice President of Academic Services in developing academic programming for prospective student visits and events. This person will have knowledge of all of the University’s programs and services and will be responsible for overseeing the student support and referral information.
  • Coordinate and manage the workflow of campus visits and events and the call center unit and assisting with the day-to-day tasks and activities to carry out the University Admissions unit mission and goals.
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service on behalf of the University

  • Demonstrated ability in researching and solving problems, sound decision making, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Self-starter, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment that is heavily focused on student success
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers (team player) and customers
  • Excellent written, typing, and spelling skills



Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Associates degree 
  • One year supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software, Internet, email and database software
  • 2 years experience in customer service
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check

 Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and Blackboard
  • Campus visit experience
  • Experience with online chat software
  • Experience scheduling shift workers
