Hiring Department:       Parking Services

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $35,000/Annual, full-time, non-exempt, benefited.
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm. Will include various nights and weekends. Subject to call-backs 24/7.

The Field Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of parking event operations. This includes hiring, training, and supervising personnel in addition to being an expert of the lots, zones, ensuring proper sign placement for easy understanding for customers parking on campus. This position will also be responsible for the pay as you go collection and maintenance in the lots.

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinate all on-campus event and yearly agreements

  • Required to contact internal and external customers, assisting them in the planning and coordination of their on-campus event.
  • Establish and maintain all yearly agreements, including reaching out to the contact in a timely manner to discuss future agreements.
  • Coordinate event parking operations, including scheduling and training staff, deploying and collecting traffic control equipment, and manage money collections and deposits as appropriate.
  • Accurately enter event details into T2 to ensure proper communication with Parking Enforcement.

Supervise Event Parking Staff

  • Hire, train, schedule and supervise event staff. Monitor work performance, evaluations, disciplinary actions and filing incident reports.
  • Responsible for ordering, maintaining, and inventory all equipment used by event parking staff. 

Manage Parking Lots Including Pay As You Go Spaces

  • Coordinate lot repainting and resurfacing with Facilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive spreadsheet of all lot repairs.
  • Responsible for all lot signage; including inventory, ordering, submitting work orders, and placement/replacement.
  • Maintain and update space inventory spreadsheet to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate ramp cleaning in the spring.
  • Maintain, repair or replace meters and pay stations as necessary.
  • Collect and deposit meter and pay stations revenue in accordance with internal auditing requirements.
  • Deposit credit card transactions used at the pay stations and Passport Parking.
  • Update spreadsheets associated to meters/pay stations and Passport Parking.  

Cross Train Assist All Aspects Parking Services

  • Act as a backup for Parking Enforcement
  • Have basic knowledge of the enforcement equipment
  • Back up the frontline, parking emails, or phone calls at peak times 

Required Competencies:

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proven verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively communicate with the campus community end the general public
  • Able to maintain a calm, courteous and objective attitude in all situations: able to diffuse adverse situations using negotiation and persuasion skins;
  • Able to effectively work independently with minimal supervision:
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, using sound judgment and professional integrity
  • Ability to learn and use a variety of computer systems and software, including T2, and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to manually direct traffic using verbal commands and dual hand signals, walk long distances on campus, and verbally communicate via portable handheld radio.
  • Organizational, multi-task, prioritization skills preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree or 3 years related experience
  • 1 year supervisory experience
  • 2 years of Customer Service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check

  • Experience with T2 Software and Hardware
  • Experience in working in a University setting
  • Experience with UND policies and procedures
  • Experience with all campus parking lots and buildings
