Blackjack Dealer

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for dealing the games of Blackjack, Let it ride and Three Card Poker to meet the needs of guests while assuring adherence to Minimum Internal Gaming Controls. . In all interactions, the position is responsible for making STAR service to guests and fellow team members a first priority.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides exceptional, STAR Service to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

• Performs the steps of STAR Service, which include…

• Smile and Greet
• Take Care of Needs
• Anticipate, Ask and Act
• Remember to Thank and Close

• Performs the position-specific STAR service expectations, as outlined by the department.

Deals assigned games in a courteous and accurate manner to comply with the Shooting Star Casino Blackjack Dealer Procedure Manual.

• Handles cards, chips and money in a proficient manner
• Verifies proper point totals of all hands verbally
• Pays winning hands or takes losing hands
• Maintains a good game pace by controlling player action to the extent possible maximizing hands per hour.
• Ensures the strictest of confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Inspects customer currency, exchanges for gaming chips, and deposits cash in drop box to ensure the safety of all negotiable items.

• Enters all buy-ins into Table Trac
• Enters Player Club Cards into Table Trac

Verifies fills and credits on assigned table to ensure all transactions are accurate.

• Checks fills and credit slips for proper signatures
• Inspects chips according to procedure when doing fills or credits.     

Listens and responds to guest concerns to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.

• Refers guests to the appropriate department or function for issue resolution.
• Assist guests on the rules of play.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

No minimum education or experience required; 6 months of experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses & Designations

• Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State Compact for gaming.
• Blackjack Dealer License
