The Grand Forks Herald is accepting applications for a full time City District Manager.

Responsibilities include:
  • Recruiting, contracting and working with delivery contractors and drivers within the assigned area.
  • Provide superior levels of customer service within the district.
  • Provide all appropriate response actions for home delivery service concerns with our subscribers.
  • Delivering open or down routes as needed.
  • Working occasional overnight distribution center shifts if necessary.
  • Assisting other district managers as directed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements
  • Work experience which includes working independently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to life up to 35 lb. bundles of newspapers.
  • Must enjoy working with people and must be self-motivated.
  • Ability to deliver door-to-door paper routes in various weather conditions if required.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle covered with acceptable insurance.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a driving record that is insurable by the company.

$500.00 Hiring bonus details: 50% is paid after 3 months and the other 50% is paid after 6 months of successful employment in good standing. Contact Human Resources for additional details. This offer is only eligible from April 24th, 2019 - May 6th, 2019.

The Herald was launched June 26, 1879, more than 10 years before North Dakota and South Dakota were granted statehood. In 1929 the Herald was purchased by the Ridder family and M.M. Oppegard. In 1974 the Ridder group of newspapers merged with Knight Newspapers to form Knight Ridder then in 2006, was purchased by Forum Communications Company. Although the Herald is based in North Dakota, a large percentage of readers live in Minnesota. The Herald includes Minnesota as well as North Dakota in any stories that gauge the regional impact of national and international news. The paper circulates in 8 counties of northeastern North Dakota and in 6 counties of northwestern Minnesota. It’s delivered across the upper Red River Valley, with a primary circulation area stretching from Rugby, N.D. to Bemidji, Minn., the Canadian border to Hillsboro, N.D.
