Position summary

Support engineering systems and processes. Develop and maintain IT infrastructure for the Engineering department. Deliver state of the art engineering systems and equipment to enable engineering to drive innovation and success for the company worldwide. Collaborate globally with design centers in other regions to develop and integrate systems and processes and apply them locally.

Position role

  • Help to develop and support the direction for Global Engineering Systems, including Computer Aided Design (CAD), company applications, Test, Analysis, Standards and other engineering related Information Management systems
  • Support the engineering and downstream use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), including Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Product Data Management (PDM) and all Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) related applications and data.
  • Aid in the development and support of specialized applications of CAD or PLM related systems.
  • Ensure CAD and PLM applications as continuously improved to reflect state of the art technology.

Responsibility

Software Maintenance
  • Manage and maintain Engineering Systems software maintenance contracts.
  • Implement software licenses and maintain a high level of software availability and uptime

Global Engineering Systems & Data Management
  • Responsible for supporting global engineering systems operations, database management and access to other facilities and networks. Responsible for aiding in development and support of specialized engineering applications to support New Product Development, Design, Documentation, Standards, Test & Analysis. Ability to mentor and train basic fundamentals for Computer Aided Design operators and Design Engineers utilizing PTC Creo. Responsible for assuring that engineering applications and capabilities appropriately maintained and upgraded.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Responsible for supporting PLM operations within the Engineering Department, Engineering Database Management, and all engineering related files within the PLM environment.
  • Assess hardware, software and operating supplies needed to meet Product Lifecycle Management requirements.


Knowledge / Education / Experience

  • Proficiency in PTC Creo, Computer Aided Engineering (CAD) software use and management including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic.
  • Systems engineering approach to design
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management tool development and administration.
  • Programming and Database skills a plus
  • Project management skills a plus
  • Laptop, Desktop, Server Experience.
  • Problem-solving skills related to computer aided design and drafting and/or computer systems.
  • Desktop Support.
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft server, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of various Windows Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis including Ansys and Creo Simulate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering General or Information Technology
  • Czech mother tongue, fluent in English
  • Experience < 5 years
  • Travel < 10%

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
