JOB SUMMARY :

The purpose of this position is to prepare nutritious meals, baked goods and nourishments, and to provide the appropriate and adequate amounts of food for the clients, staff, family members, and guests in accordance with established applicable standards and policies and procedures and as directed by the Dietary Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

This position assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability to prepare palatable, appetizing foods in accordance with the menu and therapeutic diets, and safety, and sanitary regulations. The incumbent serves food, utilizing portion control, and serving meals in a timely manner. The incumbent keeps assigned areas clean and sanitary, and receives and stores food in proper areas. This position receives supervision from the Dietary Manager.

This position works within the guidelines of ACC policies/procedures, State and Federal Laws, Rules, and Regulations .

JOB SPECIFICATONS:

The incumbent should have cooking experience and experience in a medical related facility and/or another facility and should have knowledge and training in quantity cooking or completion of a certified food safety training course is desired.

The incumbent must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, having integrity, being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts.

The incumbent must be able to read, understand and follow recipes, written and oral instructions, adjust recipes yields as necessary, and recognize freshness and overall quality of food. The incumbent could be subjected to frequent interruptions from clients, family members, coworkers, etc.

Essential Functions:


  • Adhere to the core values and attributes of ACC
  • Performs routine cleaning duties, as assigned
    Prepares high quality, nutritional, taste appealing meals in a timely manner in adequate amounts while minimizing waste in order to meet the nutritional needs of the clients and staff
  • Sets tables with appropriate diet modifications, condiments, and utensils
  • Clears tables, removing waste materials in approved containers
  • Cleans dishes, eating and cooking utensils, and others articles as assigned
  • Keeps assigned areas clean and sanitary, and receives and stores food in proper areas
  • Prepares enteral formulas by following nutrition orders in a sanitary manner



  • Provides care and service according to the established ACC policies and procedures, federal and state laws, rules and regulations




    • Respects and advocates for the protection of each individual's rights
    • Remains current regarding training, licenses and certification requirements
    • Participates in the facility safety and infection control plan
    • Support and adheres to the OSHA and workforce safety state and federal guidelines
    • Reports needed repairs and maintenance of equipment and physical environment
