Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $21.63/Hour, non-benefited, temporary
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Schedule may vary

Position Details:      

Academic process communication, completion, and liaison to the AAC , NOUS, and SBHE on these matters

  • Composes academic requests to NDUS AAC; tracks and communicates outcomes of AAC to university stakeholders; serves as VPAA resource for curriculum related calls and questions
  • Promotion and Tenure -Ensures that updates on timelines are made on AA website; initiates process through communication with colleges/departments; monitors deadlines for submission; updates and monitors documents on Blackboard site
  • Developmental leave process - initiates process; prepares documents and correspondence
  • Prepares recommendations and documentation, completes all steps in process for Emeritus status candidates
  • Processes Courtesy appointments for faculty, completes all steps in process
  • Creates and maintains the Blackboard site for processes, as needed.
  • Communicates with all parties involved in the processes, researches issues, and makes recommendations.
  • Coordinates the collection of data and prepares reports as needed.

Assistant to the Senior Vice Provost

  • Attends meetings and/or provides relevant materials for meetings, as needed.
  • Composes, edits, and prepares correspondence, reports, minutes, and other documents.
  • Serves as administrative support to various committees as requested.
  • Maintains a high level of communication across campus, as needed.
  • Corresponds by email, phone, and other means in a professional manner.
  • Works independently and uses time-management skills to set and meet deadlines
  • Provides phone coverage in VPAA office as needed.
  • May also provide assistance to faculty fellows or other administrators who report to the Senior Vice Provost.
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Displays a positive attitude as a representative of the Provost's Office

 
 
Competencies Required:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to deal effectively with administrators, faculty, staff and university stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent course work
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • 2-4 years directly related office experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Blackboard
  • Understanding of academic offices and processes within
  • Understanding of higher education and its structures
