Job Title: Outsourcing Coordinator Department: Fabrication Reports to: Fabrication Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Position Objective:
  • Through the practice of servant leadership; enhance people's lives; facilitate fabrication and finishing subcontracting activities to safely deliver quality, best value products and services, on time, to internal and external customers.


    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate scheduling, documentation, and purchasing processes for outsourced fabrication of parts, and external plating/finishing services
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure effective communication, vendor accountability, and adherence to schedule commitments
  • Negotiate and maintain vendor pricing for machining and plating services, to assure best value to Aagard at a fair price
  • Review and resolve manufacturing issues for external machining vendors
  • Pro-actively monitor internal workflow to identify, investigate, and resolve part flow issues
  • Provide limited work direction to other team members to ensure smooth daily operations workflow
  • Communicate effectively with internal engineering and production personnel
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed, housekeeping tasks are performed
  • Ensure quality control processes and part quality meet documented requirements
  • Ensure production schedules are met with on-time completion of tasks
  • Recommend and implement best practices to increase productivity and reduce costs
  • Communicate openly, share knowledge, build positive collaboration within Fabrication, and between departments
  • Support and contribute to department and company metrics
  • Be actively engaged in continuous improvement projects and culture

    General Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to, support and promote the Aagard vision and culture statements
  • Demonstrate professional, respectful interaction with other team members
  • Accurately and professionally represent Aagard to customers and vendors
  • Other duties as assigned


    Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma, Associate's degree in Manufacturing or Design Technology or related field preferred plus 5+ years manufacturing experience with purchasing and scheduling, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Experience in evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing products and services
  • Ability to read CAD drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to read measuring instruments
  • Experience with machinery fabrication
  • Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
  • Experience with Microsoft products including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, take action and be proactive
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers verbally, in writing, with presentation skills
