Farm Manager

Position Description:
The Farm Manager will oversee the Main Experiment Station farm livestock units in relation to management needs, cropland production, manure management and fiscal budget management. They will ensure livestock inventory and standard operating procedure guidelines are followed. The farm manager reports to the Head of the Department of Animal Sciences relative to production, research, livestock stewardship and capital improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Animal Science, Forage and Range, Farm Business Management, or a closely related field
- Five years livestock, farm and crop experience
- Three years of supervisory experience
- Must have knowledge of and ability to use farm equipment and machinery
- Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- CDL or willing to acquire

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in related field
- Experience with compliance (e.g., IACUC , safety, etc.)
- Experience with budget management and oversight
- Experience with managing animal inventory
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
