Who We're Looking For:

If so, do your best work with Acme Tools - we are currently hiring for either an experienced or entry-level Service Technician!

What You'll Take Ownership Of:
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and fuel problems on motorized power equipment
  • Discussing equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with customers
  • Performing service calls on the road and communicating with customers about equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed
  • Performing routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts, replacing spark plugs, test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts, repairing and replacing worn defective or broken parts, reassembling and reinstalling components and engines following repairs
  • Cleaning up tools and messes after each project, keeping indoor and outdoor work stations clean and clear from obstructions, as well as maintaining clean and working service trucks
  • Prioritizing work schedule, especially during busy seasonal times of year
  • Assisting in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to safety standards, striving to improve safety standards, and reporting any suspicious activity
  • Clearly communicating with the Service Supervisor, as well as the Parts department to ensure parts are ordered and received in a timely manner
  • Accurate record keeping, including inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
  • Assisting as sales support when needed
  • This position will perform related tasks as assigned


Equipment most commonly worked on by Gas Service Technicians include 2- and 4-stroke engines such as snow blowers, chainsaws, portable generators, power trowels, garden tractors, and golf carts

This individual must be willing to cross train in other repair areas as well, as they may be asked to work on anything that we sell at Acme.

Need-To-Haves:
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Although the majority of work is performed indoors, this individual must be willing to work outside in all seasons


Skills and Experience Preferred:
  • Engine Certification
  • Computer Skills
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • 2+ years of experience working with gas and small-engine repair
