Ingredient Sales

AGT Foods, a division of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc, is seeking a qualified candidate for Ingredient Sales to work with its domestic merchandising group on promoting dry pea, lentil and chickpea based ingredients to the North American pet food and human food market. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, confident individual with an interest in the movement of functional pulse based ingredients from origin to end-use market and attention to detail of the steps to get it there.

Under the direction of the Division Head of Food Ingredients, the successful applicant will:

Act as the liaison between AGT foods and customers around North America, providing market intelligence and product expertise
Execute and promote a sales strategy to promote pulse crop based ingredients to key North American customers in both human and pet food.
Using analytical and negotiation skills, will manage all aspects of sales contracts, risks and freight movement, as well as maintain an up-to-date knowledge of market trends and competitor activity
Assess risk and exercise exceptional judgment in decision-making
Utilize excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal team members and external clients and customers.

The successful candidate will have strong computer skills in Office, a degree in Business Administration, Food Science or Agriculture is preferred but not required. Language skills are a benefit as well. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
