Layout Specialist

Forum Communications is seeking a quick learner with an eye for details to take on the role of Layout Specialist in our production hub.

This person will be responsible for placing retail ads, designing classified sections, and performing quality checks on print advertising, all while ensuring deadlines are met for more than a dozen newspapers each day.

Our work moves very quickly, so we need someone who can keep up in a fast-paced environment, who excels at on-the-job learning and who isn't afraid to ask questions to make sure we always get it right. Every page our dozens of newspapers put out each week flows through our team, so it is critical that we attend to every detail every time. Much of our software is proprietary, so we'll need to train you on it, but we do need you to be tech savvy and have a knack for learning new programs quickly.

Position Requirements

If you have experience in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, that's a big plus. Finding someone with a work style that complements our needs is paramount in this role - people who excel in this post are self-motivated multitaskers driven to always produce top results even under tough circumstances, including tight turnaround times on deadline.
