Orderly - Float Pool

The Float Orderly performs lifts and transfers on patients; transports and/or transfers patients within or outside the hospital; assists staff with proper lifting, alignment and positioning techniques; demonstrates ability to assess what lifting devices are needed; performs and documents male catheterization; performs and documents bed weights on patients; completes all documentation; identifies changes in patient's condition and takes appropriate actions; demonstrates knowledge of location set-up and use of basic and special equipment; performs traction assembly, monitoring and disassembly; performs personal cares/comforts for patients; performs preps for patients for special procedures and assists with discharge process. Patients cared for include: infants, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Required: • High school diploma or the equivalent. • Certified by the North Dakota State Department of Health as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered by North Dakota Board of Nursing as a Nursing Assistant or must obtain within the first six (6) weeks of employment. • Successful completion of the functional assessment for the Float Orderly job description. Preferred: • Previous experience in a health care setting.
