Scope:
- Responsible for daily operations, profitability, and accountability for the assigned region.
- Responsible for ensuring deliver of care, orientation program and quality improvement across assigned region following Knute Nelson policies, procedures and culture.
- Responsible for supervising direct care staff including nursing, social workers, chaplaincy and aides.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Acumen - Understands business systems. Understands financial reports including profit and loss, balance sheets and cash flow. Interprets financials to make good business decisions.
- Orientation and Training - Assist the Director of Hospice with planning annual training to assure staff educational needs are met/exceed expectations. Establish staffing patterns, which reflect the quality and quantity of various personnel necessary maximizing productivity and working together to meet the needs of clients. Triage staff concerns and questions. Must fully utilize the human resources software for hiring, performance management, and education/education documentation and tracking. Has a full understanding of the regulations for continuing education for hospice employees and schedules trainings accordingly.
- Quality Assurance - Work with the Director of Compliance and Director of Hospice to lead interventions and evaluations to improve the overall quality throughout the hospice agency. Work with the QAPI team to develop the quarterly quality assurance projects, interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness. Compile information for the semi-annual quality assurance meeting. Must have full understanding of QAPI and CAHPS reporting and strive to improve the reported quality improvement areas. Will work with the Vice President of Home Care & Hospice and the Director of Hospice to achieve the goals of the corporate strategic plan.
- Public Relations in the Community - Actively develop and pursue referral sources with the assistance of the Community Liaison, as well as facilitate on-going relationships with various medical and health communities. Work to develop an open positive rapport and relationships with community resources affiliated with home care services.

Education and Experience Required:
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of Hospice experience with Knute Nelson is preferred.
- Must obtain CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured personal vehicle.
- Must complete and pass a state required background study.
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing to the extent required by the position.
- Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
- Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents and visitors.
