JOB SUMMARY

Performs complex billing activities such as processing aging reports, complicated or sensitive customer service issues, private insurance, Medicare and/or Medicaid pending claims and denials.
Sets an example with behavior and attitude that exemplifies an eagerness to satisfy, develop positive relationships with clients, patients, residents, and resident representatives, co-workers, payers, and enhance public relations through verbal communication. Multitask-oriented, and possess the ability to use problem solving and judgment call skills daily. Has knowledge, which is unique to the reference industry relative to billing and insurance rules and regulations; uses knowledge to maintain accurate accounts receivable for patient and client accounts. May be involved in the education and training of new employees and other health care professionals. Performs other related duties as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Processes limited amounts of detailed information with good accuracy. Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes concerns. Completes current work according to assigned priorities. Resolves common customer problems. Post medical insurance billings. Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors. Process, prepare, and submit business or government forms, such as submitting applications for coverage to insurance carriers. Review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations. Processes payments, credits, debits and adjustments. Works with financial transactions and related documentation within the organization. Represents the organization faithfully and accurately with internal and external audiences.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Schedule will be Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary education or equivalent training in a health care or business related field is required; Associate's degree preferred.
Must have at least three years of applicable experience, with previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Computer skills sufficient to operate on-line systems and complex software with advanced functionality. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to interpret and apply policies and procedures for clarification and problem resolution.
