JOB SUMMARY
Performs clerical services and tasks for a specific unit in healthcare facilities. Answering phone calls and responding to patients' inquires about healthcare programs and services. Receiving and dispatching correspondence for designated unit. Assisting with administrative tasks for a specific healthcare unit, such as ordering supplies and scheduling. Collaborating to create and maintain a clean environment within healthcare facilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Takes personal ownership of and strives to meet assigned accountability expectations. Demonstrates open, friendly, accepting, and supportive behaviors with team members. Strives to complete assignments according to established quality measures. Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. Greet visitors/callers or staff and handle their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs. Compute, record, and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports. Perform various clerical or administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies. Works with all basic office support products. Uses scheduling tools and technologies to create and maintain a schedule. Uses organizational skills to determine resource needs and priorities.
DEPARTMENT DETAILS
SMCF 8A will be an 18-bed Innovation Unit serving the needs of complex medical/surgical patients. The innovation unit welcomes dynamic healthcare professionals that thrive on change and want to be in a team on the cutting edge of improving the patient experience and outcomes of care through the exploration and adoption of new technologies, care delivery processes and equipment used in patient care. QUALIFICATIONS
May require CPR certification dependent upon department. High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
