Job Summary
The Physical Security Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the physical security function for the entire enterprise operations. This position will ensure physical security strategic plans and procedures are executed, tested and relevant. The position ensures that security contract obligations are met and handles tactical day-to-day operational issues that arise in the arena of physical security. In addition, this position will be responsible for crisis response in the areas of guard response and for training on disasters involving the guards or first responders, including, but not limited to tornados, fires and active shooter incidents.

Essential Functions
- Plays an active and lead role in carrying out physical security strategic plans which have been developed and approved at the executive leadership level.
- Focuses on security initiatives which protect people, places and the organization’s equipment or property.
- Provides guidance and support on personal safety techniques.
- Understands and works to ensure corporate policies and procedures relating to weapons, drugs, privacy, evacuation and disaster plans are enforced and administered properly.
- Functions as a liaison between the organization and the security contract, ensuring the contracted security staff are fulfilling job duties and overall contract obligations.
- Provides instructional guidance on the proper methods and techniques necessary for security guard operational actions and responses. Design and conducts ongoing training of new and existing staff on physical security activities such as critical incidents, first responder and badge access/usage training.
- Ensures the staffing schedule provided by the third-party guard service provides appropriate and adequate physical security coverage for Company locations.
- Coordinates physical security guard activities including but not limited to, involuntary terminations, restraining orders and involvement with local law enforcement.
- Oversees the design, implementation and audit activities of all physical security functions. Handles the audit of security guard procedures and day-to-day activities. Leads, provides guidance and generates reports on any audit activities which contain aspects or elements relating to physical security.
- Handles the administration and maintenance of the building key audit function for all Company locations.
