Job Information

The objective of this position is to detect and to prevent product defects from getting to customers by working with various departments to:
  • Inspect product, components and process to ensure compliance
  • Drive resolution to assigned quality issues
  • Coordinate activities and develop capabilities of subordinates
  • Audit manufacturing processes in accordance with the quality system and follow up with individuals and departments to drive accountability when gaps are found.
  • Recommend design and/or manufacturing methods for quality improvements
  • Develop inspection plans for parts, components and processes, and communicate results to drive corrective action
  • Select and use proper measuring equipment and methods


Role & Responsibility

Quality Assurance of Product and Process
  • Develop and conduct examination plans/inspections of complete machines, components and processes to determine their acceptance.
  • Communicate findings as required to responsible departments to drive corrective action.
  • Assist in maintaining the quality system, including documents and records, in accordance with ISO 9001.
  • Work closely with all departments to assure product quality is maintained in accordance with the management directives.
  • Identify talent and develop the capabilities of subordinates to sustain consistency with a high performing team

Non-Conforming Material
  • Evaluate and control nonconforming products or components in accordance with the quality system.
  • Initiate Q-Status validation plans and monitor supplier defect reports on nonconforming products(s) to drive permanent corrective action.
  • Communicate findings and drive action as required to responsible individuals and suppliers.
  • Order non-production replacement parts, perform minor repairs on NCM components, and trouble shoot problems during testing.

Quality Governance
  • Work in area of responsibility to monitor and supply actionable quality related information from internal and external sources to drive corrective action.
  • Complete formal audits and assessments on products and processes.


Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, will allow equivalent experience.
  • Experience Required: 5-7 years.
  • Travel Required:
  • Demonstrated skills in blueprint reading, using measuring & test equipment, & nonconformance procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T, fabrication, weld, product assembly and paint processes.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical & technical experiences and familiarity of hydraulic and electrical systems preferred. Demonstrated experience with the application of computer tools used for communication and analysis.
  • Demonstrated use of MS Office tools. Apriso experience prefered.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience leading teams
  • Lean Six Sigma belt certification or familiarity with problem solving and improvement methodologies and tools

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
