Job Information
Operates construction equipment and operates industrial truck equipment with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment and material in warehouse, storage yard or factory. Operates tugger to deliver necessary parts from the warehouse to the work site. Must have the ability to move material and pick orders without the use of motorized equipment.
Role & Responsibility
- Moving levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Must be able to load and unload shipping trucks
- Must be able to drive construction equipment
- Positioning forks, lifting platform or other lifting devices under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, product or materials and transports to designated area.
- Unloading and stacking material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Loading or unloading materials onto or off pallets, skids or lifting device by hand as needed.
- Maintaining safety checks on lift truck to ensure it is in safe and proper working order.
- Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Performing overtime work as required.
- Completing transactions upon movement of material to and from locations. Transactional integrity is required. Must be able to operate a scanner and computer for transactions.
- Reporting quality issues and concerns as discovered.
- Drives tugger using hand controls for stand-up model and foot pedals for sit down model.
- Loads parts manually from racks, tubs, and/or bins in warehouse to trays or racks on the tugger or cart.
- Loads and unloads parts manually from paint line.
- Maintains safety checks on lift truck to ensure it is in safe and proper working order.
- Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Keeps aisles clean and orderly.
- Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
- Completes preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
- Performs other non-essential duties as assigned by management
Job Requirement
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 0>2 years of experience, Travel < 10%
- Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Prior successful completion of a forklift safety class, and written forklift operation. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time, while understanding that safety, quality, and transactional integrity are most important. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds continuously.
- Must have experience driving forklift, cherry picker, and transacting parts using a scanner. The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent is required. Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations or assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations or assignments.
