New Product Development (NPD) Manufacturing Engineer

 Our NPD Manufacturing Engineers embrace our Lean Manufacturing practices by ensuring the company is using the appropriate level of technology on production processes during manufacturing. They work collaboratively in a new product design team to concurrently design the processes and equipment used to manufacture hearth products.

 Our Manufacturing Engineers ensure that the products are manufactured safely, and are quick to detect any errors. They are constantly implementing improvements to eliminate waste and keep our company running smoothly. Our engineers have an exceptional opportunity to be innovative and hands-on, especially since we give them the opportunity to manage their own diverse projects.

 

Your role as a NPD Manufacturing Engineer

  • Drive improvements in plant quality results through development and implementation of capable processes with defined control systems.
  • Meet/Exceed customer delivery expectations through effectively managing projects to meet product launch timelines.
  • Drive gains in labor efficiency and material savings through product design simplification along with integration of product and process design.
  • Ensure a safe workplace for all members through improvements in product design and assembly station ergonomics.

 

The requirements of a NPD Manufacturing Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or similar role
  • Proficient with computer software (CAD and Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Automation preferred
