ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF FARM MANAGEMENT EDUCATION
FOR DICKINSON AREA OF NORTH DAKOTA, 00027046

COMPENSATION: Eleven month, full-time and/or open to discussing other possibilities, special non-tenure track position with potential for future tenure track according to BSC policy. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsibilities include teaching, recruiting and enrolling students, assisting students in developing sound farm financial and production records, helping farmers create cash flow projections, submitting completed year end farm business analysis for state and local averages, student advising, curriculum development and other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or the Dean of Current & Emerging Technologies. Much of the teaching work with students is done on a one-to-one basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Appropriate bachelor's degree (i.e. Agriculture, Business, etc.) or willingness to obtain a bachelor's degree within 6 years (tuition assistance available).
  • One or more years of related agriculture experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, etc., Outlook E-mail and Calendar, and strong Internet familiarity.
  • Ability to articulate and support the community college philosophy with a strong commitment to teaching and learning in a community college setting.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
  • Will be required to obtain North Dakota State Board for Career and Technical Education certification (up to six years to obtain and tuition assistance is available). For more information on CTE certification: http://www.nd.gov/cte/teacher-cert/docs/PS_CertStandards.pdf.
  • Must be willing to be trained in using FINPACK software.
Preferred:
  • Appropriate master's degree.
  • Documented successful teaching experience.
