Position Description:
The College of Science and Math Business Center is comprised of a team of staff who work closely together to oversee all budget, accounting, and HR/Payroll functions for the nine departments of the College. This position provides grant budget management and oversight to multiple departments. Since this position also serves as the source of policy and procedural questions, the ability to problem solve is essential to this role. In addition, the ability to communicate, be flexible and exhibit a positive and professional attitude directly contributes to the success of the entire team.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office - specifically Microsoft Excel
• 2-3 years of experience managing budgets
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to contribute to a professional and team work environment in a positive and flexible manner
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Ability to communicate and work well with people of diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree, Accounting or Business Administration preferred, but not required
• Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS and Finance modules
• Knowledge of university policies related to accounting, purchasing and human resources
• Knowledge of accounting procedures
• 1-2 years' experience working with HR/Payroll tasks and situations
• Experience preparing budgets for federal granting agencies (eg National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, US Department of Agriulture)
