Position Description:
The Director for Residence Life and Student Engagement/Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Valley City State University provides the leadership and direction to create and foster an inclusive and educational living environment for students. The director provides mentoring and oversight to graduate assistants and resident assistants who are responsible for day to day activities and community development within the residence halls. The director creates the programming curriculum which drives the educational experiences intended to help students grow individually, advance community standards and values, and inspire individual action. The director advocates for the needs of students within the residence hall community and ensures that issues within the community are resolved in a timely manner. In addition, the director has the opportunity to influence first year experiences at VCSU by providing leadership and direction to the welcome weekend activities and Learning to Live first year experience class.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree, five years of directly related work experience, high-level ability to communicate (oral and written) to a broad and varied audience, and an excellent ability to interact and serve individuals from diverse backgrounds are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in higher education or related field, experience working in a university setting, experience developing programs or initiatives, reflective listening skills, counseling skills, knowledge of educational processes, and interpersonal skills are preferred.
Compensation:
$46,000-$57,000. Comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid full family coverage for health insurance, TIAA retirement plan, and tuition waiver benefits.
