The College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD), which is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Social Work, seeks a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Nutrition & Dietetics department. The starting date for the position is August 16, 2020.

The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to prepare future leaders, to advance human well-being and improve quality of life for diverse populations, with an emphasis on rural communities in North Dakota, the region and beyond, through the provision of high-quality innovative inter-professional education, research and service. The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines offers innovative online educational programs, a laboratory, a simulation center and a supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. Teaching Support: 
Formal educational sessions and career development support are available throughout the institution. Examples include programs from the UND Office of Instructional Development, frequent training sessions and technical support offered by the UND Teaching Transformation & Development Academy as well as the IT support team and librarian services.

The region is an excellent location for clinical practice in an interprofessional environment. The Nutrition & Dietetics department has strong longstanding relationships with its local and regional community partners.

Position Details:
The Assistant Professor will carry out annual activities in teaching, research and service. The Assistant Professor is expected to work collaboratively with department faculty to achieve the mission of the department through impactful research, effective teaching and advising and valuable service endeavors.

Position Opportunities:

  • Develop an active and productive research agenda
  • Obtain internal and external grant funding
  • Instruction of 12-16 teaching credits per academic year
  • Advising professional, undergraduate and graduate students in coursework and scholarly projects
  • Program assessment data recording and reporting
  • Service to the department, college, university and profession
  • Continued professional development through professional membership and training
  • Participate in strategic and programmatic planning

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Doctorate in Human Nutrition or related field
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity
  • Teaching experience 
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check

Preferred Skills/Desired Qualifications:

  • Postdoctoral fellowship training
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)
  • Online teaching experience
  • Qualify for licensure in North Dakota and Minnesota
