'Exhibits leadership and management expertise in relation to the residential and daily needs of the individuals supported by the Independent Living Services Department, ensuring quality service delivery, while advancing the overall goals and objectives of Fraser, Ltd.

Qualifications:

Qualified to act as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional/QDDP- (Bachelor’s Degree in special education, learning disabilities, education, social work, or a related field AND one year experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Time management skills and ability to organize work load. Experience supervising employees. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential in this position.

At least two years of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities in a professional human services setting is preferred. Knowledge of habilitation/rehabilitation approaches and practices. Experience with implementing behavioral supports and personal objectives. Working knowledge of the medical, psychological, social, and educational aspects of working with people with disabilities. Prefer knowledge of ICF/DD licensure and accreditation standards and knowledge of the Overall Service Plan (OSP) process.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Administrative: Supervises Direct Support Professionals’ (DSPs) performance and evaluates annually. Completes DSP schedules, works direct support hours as necessary to assure required staff coverage, and authorizes weekly employee time sheets. Reviews data entry by DSPs weekly, to assure completion and accuracy. Completes and updates General Events Reports, including completion of an environmental assessment and any additional required follow-up. Provides written reports to the department head on findings and/or recommendations from on-site observations. Participates with internal investigations as requested. Assists with quarterly financial audits for people supported. Obtains and retains certification as a CPR/AED, First Aid and Therapeutic Intervention instructor to teach classes. Participates in on-call rotation as scheduled.

Program: Manages the residential and day to day needs of the individuals on the assigned caseload to assure quality in overall service delivery. Serves as the primary contact person for people supported/family/Guardians/vocational and day support providers regarding residential concerns and the daily needs of the individuals. This would include all emergencies and general contact a minimum of monthly. 

Training: Provides in the home/on-the-job training for the DSPs. Coordinates monthly staff meetings and ensures Direct Support Professionals receive in-service and program specific training.  Provides in-home expertise and ongoing modeling for Direct Service Professionals regarding methods, strategies, and techniques relative to OSP implementation.

Property: Coordinates the care and maintenance of the residence assigned. Overall supervision and monitoring of home environment including care and maintenance of property and working with maintenance staff.
