The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate all aspects of catering including: participating as a member of the catering and conferencing team, meeting with clients, coordinating customer requests, set-up, serving and cleaning up of catered events, completing staffing requests and training of student staff, all while maintaining the quality standards of Auxiliary Services and the Health Department.
1. Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.

2. Supervise operations of catered events – 60%
• Set up, serve and clean up catered events;
• Responsible for ensuring functions are well organized and a high level of customer service is reached;
• Ensure state health standards are maintained;
• Ensure a safe and clean service and dining area adhering to standards of sanitation and safety as established by local, state, and federal health officials;
• Organize catering storage rooms and coolers.

3. Event planning, coordination and management – 25%
• Meet with clients, assess expectations and determine a way to meet those expectations;
• Order food, equipment and supplies for catered events;
• Maintain supply and equipment inventories (paper, linen, uniforms, storage areas);
• Attend weekly management meetings;
• Attend weekly production meetings as required;
• Ensure billing for catering events are done in a timely manner;
• Complete catering reports as needed;
• Supervise unit operations and employees on weekends and evenings as scheduled;
• Categorize and store theme decorations;
• Order linen as needed;
• Keep storage areas organized;
• Other duties as assigned.

4. Train and provide direction supervise catering student staff. -10%

5. Completes staffing requests and provide direction to student employees – 5%
• Coordinate staff requests;
• Facilitate student training;
• Assist with performance appraisals for catering student managers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in HMR, Business, Management, or related field OR equivalent experience with one year of full-time work equal to one year of education.
• 2 years related experience
• ServSafe certificate or similar food safety course certificate, or pass ServSafe exam within the first year of employment;
• Valid drivers license and insurable driving record.
