JOB SUMMARY

Responsible to manage the comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic patient care under the direction of a physician's prescription. This includes patient assessment, formulation and implementation of a treatment plan, as well as follow-up and practice management. The orthosis/prosthesis is designed to restore physiological function and/or cosmesis.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates proficiency with using all basic office support software. Demonstrates experience participating in productive collaborative processes. Delivers written and oral communication, responds to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact. Asks questions to validate the understanding of the subject matter. Anticipates customer needs, focusing efforts to proactively meet needs and exceed customer expectations. Adapts interaction style to situations and people. Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate. Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to understand cause of a conflict. Performs at least 2-3 concurrent activities without reducing productivity. Makes sound recommendations when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives. Learns and uses resources the organization has to assess and enhance team motivation. Ensures an appropriate flow of communications within the team. Effectively performs the technical job aspects, continuously building knowledge and keeping up-to-date on technical and procedural job components.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completed the schooling necessary to become certified as a Certified Orthotic/Prosthetic Practitioner. Ten years of combined experience, education and training in orthotics and prosthetics under the supervision of a privileged orthotist and prosthetist with a minimum of four years in each discipline. Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics through the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC) is required; if not at time of hire, must have certification within three years of hire. Possess a valid Class D driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
