Elementary Education Generalist Special Appointment Faculty

The School of Education and Graduate Studies (SEGS) at Valley City State University is seeking a full time Elementary Education Special Appointment position.

The candidate selected will be expected to teach face- to- face on the VCSU campus.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to advise potential Education candidates. This position will also teach face to face at VCSU in Elementary Education. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain, and update content and activities as needed. Duties will include advising, recruiting, student teaching supervision, and campus committees. Position requires travel.

Other main duties may include:
Teaching coursework in elementary education.
Supervising Student Teachers.
Recruiting and advising a diverse student population.
Engaging in appropriate service in the department, university, and academic community.
Participating in professional development in elementary education pedagogy, staying current with relevant course content, and working to improve student learning and engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a Master's degree in Education
Willingness to teach both face to face on campus and in the online format
Ability to work with others in a collegial and collaborative manner
Ability to travel throughout the state of North Dakota at least once a semester
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to serve individuals from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in teaching at the university-level
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of technology in the classroom, experience teaching in the online format
Experience advising students

Compensation
The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, and typically ranges from $41,000 to $45,000 annually.
