JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for consulting and providing guidance regarding technical and regulatory issues for laboratories in designated territory. Must also develop relationships in order to build and maintain the client base. Demonstrates patience, kindness, and cooperation with clients and co-workers. May be asked to travel to any laboratory site depending on the needs of the facility and at the discretion of the leadership.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Uses formal and informal means to keep client informed on progress and issues. Produces written materials relevant to own work and department. Participates in internal safety or health inspections. Interprets documentation on the policies and standards regarding contact with the customer. Follows standards and procedures that are relevant to one's own function and initiative. Documents regulatory and reporting requirements. Determines individual and team competency requirements, vulnerabilities, and learning needs. Creates a reputation of communicating effectively with technical and business staff. Carries out the agreed-upon consulting assignment in a professional manner. Assists in the development and application of operating procedures and quality control standards. Applies key aspects of continuous improvement processes and evaluates impact on quality. Adheres to organizational quality management processes and practices. Adheres to compliance requirements in a specific area of healthcare practices.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

The ideal candidate will be responsible to consult clients to help them meet CLIA and CAP regulations. They will provide field support to external clients and be the primary contact when a visit is needed to their location to resolve service issues. Excellent communication, human relations skills, and customer service are essential to ensure service levels provided are of the highest standards. This role will be involved in sales and sales support within their territory to include pricing of services and maintaining client loyalty. Overnight travel may be necessary when visiting the outer edges of the assigned territory.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science is required.
Prefer five years laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic laboratory. Prior customer service experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Must be registered by the American Society of Laboratory Science as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
