Job Details
Eventide-Devils Lake is currently looking for a part time Certified Medication Aid II (CMAII) to work between 20 and 60 hours per pay period. The hours are 6:00am-2:30pm various weekdays with every other weekend with holiday rotation.
The Certified Medication Assistant II administers and documents oral medications, inhalers, eye drops, eardrops, and oral, rectal, and topical medications under the supervision and guidelines of the Resident Care Nurse. The CMA II also assists in providing for the residents' physical, mental, spiritual, psychological and social needs under the supervision, guidance and teaching of the Resident Care Nurse and Director of Nursing.

- Requires a current North Dakota CMAII license
Essential Job Functions
- Set up, administer, and chart all oral medications, inhalers, eye drops, eardrops, and oral, rectal and topical medications given.
- Watch for side effects and report observations to the Resident Care Nurse.
- Give medication as needed under the direct guidance and supervision of the Resident Care Nurse.
- Report effectiveness concerning the administration of medication for comfort under the guidance and supervision of the Resident Care Nurse. Document the effect of the comfort medications on the medication sheets.
- Make medication schedule adjustments in consultation with the Resident Care Nurse and document in the nurses' notes as needed.
- Consult with the Resident Care Nurse as needed, keeping him/her informed of changes in residents' conditions.
- Dispense stock medication to employees only with approval of the Resident Care Nurse.
- Check all resident medications on a routine basis; supplies and reorders on a timely basis.
- Assist in keeping medication cart clean, including individual drawers which are to be cleaned on a monthly basis.
- Comply with rules and regulations as set forth by the North Dakota Department of Health and the Center for Medicare/Medicaid services.
- Assist with all daily living activities of the residents (oral care, hair care, dressing, feeding, bathing, toileting etc.) to ensure safety, comfort, health and hygiene as needed.
- Provide activity and exercise as required for each individual resident as needed.
- Assist in providing nutrition and fluids that help meet elimination needs when needed.
- Record pertinent information as needed.
- Dispose of medications that have previously been discontinued, following Eventide policy.
- Write physician orders on med sheets as directed by the Resident Care Nurse.
