The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of applicable shift operations at the Production and Distribution facility. Position reports to the Production Manager. Coordination is required between this position and other Shift Supervisors, Plant Manager, Line Leads and Lead personnel, Safety Managers, and HR. The key challenge of this position is to continually improve the overall effectiveness through improvements to safety, processing and packaging costs, product quality, and employee morale.

Essential Job Functions
  • Coordinate and supervise all Production Department activities. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Coordinating and optimizing packaging equipment utilization
  • All bulk preparation (scanning and yields)
  • All finished product packaging
  • All foreign material and quality assurance documentation and follow through
  • Labor requirements and adjustments (ensure standard staffing)
  • Human Resource policy adherence and follow through
  • Prioritize, initiate, and coordinate problem solving efforts to improve the effectiveness of the processing and packaging areas.
  • With Safety and Quality at top of mind, enforce all standards, policies and procedures of Masters Gallery Foods, Inc.
  • Lead and organize specific department meetings ensuring full compliance with all company QA / Safetyprograms and policies.
  • Lead and organize specific Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Identify needs and coordinate training and development for all production personnel.
  • Maintain records, forms, and other documentation as required to ensure regulatory, plant, and customer requirements compliance.
  • Support and facilitate implementation of all plant initiatives.
  • Provide direct leadership to all Production Lead/ Team Lead & Line Lead personnel to ensure continuous development.
  • Investigate all injuries for root cause using plant problem solving methods.
  • Report all performance and departmental issues to plant leadership across all shifts and departments as needed.
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel to continually identify opportunities to improve OEE.
  • Provide OEE improvement leadership.
  • Perform daily and weekly audits (GMP / Safety).
  • Perform reviews on production team members (30 day / 90 day / Annual)
  • Monitor usage and input of trim for shred items.
Related Duties
  • Conduct investigations to identify problem sources and make decisions regarding solutions to those problems.
  • Lead shift meetings.
  • Ability to work weekend hours and additional hours as needed.
Education

Associate Degree in Supervisory Management, Manufacturing Operations, or related field.

Experience

Must have at least 6 years of related experience working in a supervisory management role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and supervisory skills.
  • Specific knowledge of production processes and packaging operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must process a coaching mentality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, Office 365).
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to use a PC, iPad, and mainframe computer for basic computer applications.
  • Basic understanding of LOTO.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Ability to fluently communicate needs of production staff.
  • Ability to solve non-technical problems such as:
    • Scheduling
    • Personnel
  • Proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to facilitate a fair operation ensuring equal treatment.
  • Accept responsibility and admit mistakes.
  • Ability to discipline and hold team accountable.
