Hiring Department: Center for Family Medicine, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Position is located in Bismarck, ND 
                        
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:
  $30,000 plus/year, Full-time, Benefited, Non-Exempt
Benefits:  Includes single or family health care coverage, basic life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave. Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision,Flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday  8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Position Details:

  • Greet and register patients in a timely, professional and confident manner.
  • Determines, verifies, and updates appropriate patient demographics.
  • Use knowledge of database system to provide appropriate and confidential appointments.
  • Collects payments from patients and posts payments into software system.
  • Balance cash drawer and credit card payments daily.


Competencies Required:

  • Ability to demonstrate telephone proficiency/etiquette
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in regard to all information acquired in course of performing the job.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with faculty and resident physicians.
  • Ability to work with patients and the public in a professional, confidential, and calm fashion.
  • Ability to respond and perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
  • Ability to multi-task while still maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Requirements
:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year experience as a receptionist.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a receptionist in a medical setting.
  • Experience with patient registration procedures.
