Responsibilities: Assists Service Manager in daily and overall operation of the service department Primary Duties: Receiving and addressing client concerns/issues through incoming phone calls and other means. The Assistant Service Manager will diagnose client problems, recommend corrective services and sell additional services over the phone as well as face to face when appropriate Provides leadership and supervision to the service department team Provides feedback for Technician reviews, bonuses, and disciplinary actions Reviews all closed repair orders for timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and quality Updates all repair order estimates on a daily bases Assist with technicians daily work schedules by ensuring parts are available and pulled for that days jobs Maintains shop tools, equipment, and vehicle maintenance Professionally handles overflow phone calls, as needed Manages the service department when the Service Manager is not available Effectively educations and trains all service department team members on an on-going basis to ensure continued development of skill sets Performs daily reconciliation of all technician time cards Process expenses as provided by the Service technicians into the system Perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management Qualifications: Associate's degree (AA) in a technical field, Bachelors is preferred, or comparable work experience Three to five years heavy duty service or related experience with supervisory experience preferred Ability to demonstrate or display extensive product knowledge to customer and staff Supervisory skills to include the ability to coach, train and motivate subordinates to reach established department goals Must be highly organized, detail oriented and results driven Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously Ability to work well under pressure while assisting a wide variety of customers (both internal and external) while fostering relationships with key industry contacts Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to handle upset customers in a professional manner Ability to maintain or obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop and lift/move up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis Ability to work in a dealership environment to include 8 - 12 hour days with frequent exposure to weather elements APPLY NOW
