Description:
Operate a wide range of standard and custom developed manual machine tools both in our shop and at our customers facilities. Perform all aspects of the job including machine set-up, tooling selection, machine operation, and on-going measurement and dimensional inspection. You will be working from drawings, specifications, job layouts, and written and/or oral instructions.
- Setup and operate a range of manual lathes, mills, boring bars, VTLs and other standard shop equipment when performing tight tolerance machining.
- Using standard measurement instruments to perform quality control checks on parts; in-process and upon completion.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Exercise care and safe work practices.
- Work with others at IPM and with our customers to adapt to changing technical and logistical
- requirements.
- Other duties as assigned and/or required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Completion of a Machine Shop Technology program or a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a manual machinist; or an equivalent combination of both, training and experience.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and able to make own set-ups from drawings.
- Experience with manual machine tools is required.
- A valid drivers license is required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening and an ongoing drug screening is required.
