OPENING DATE: 06/28/2019

CLOSING DATE: Open until filled

STARTING DATE: To be determined

COMPENSATION: $14,000 for the season

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This is a part-time, non-benefited position through the Bismarck State College baseball season.

Directly accountable and responsible to the Director of Athletics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for recruiting intercollegiate baseball athletes who are capable students and competitive athletes.
  2. Responsible for coaching intercollegiate baseball.
  3. Responsible for assisting with fundraising efforts, including the annual President's Cup Golf Tourney in June.

DUTIES:
  1. Recruits quality athletes for baseball.
  2. Advises and counsels reporting athletes on academic programs, financial aid, and housing.
  3. Motivates and monitors reporting athletes for class attendance, learning/study skills and to obtain their degree.
  4. In cooperation with the Director, schedules games and tournaments for assigned teams.
  5. Manages the traveling funds for assigned teams. Coordinates the inventory, purchase, repair, and maintenance of uniforms and equipment for assigned teams.
  6. Schedules and supervises practices and physical conditioning for assigned teams.
  7. Supervises assigned assistant coaches.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Baseball coaching experience.
  • Must be able to build and sustain a successful baseball intercollegiate athletic program.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience as a college baseball coach.
  • Bachelor's degree in physical education or coaching.
