Job Information

The Lean Promotions Manager is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for LSS, OpEx and TQM, aligning resources with business needs to address the most important issues with the highest impact using a formal process to prioritize and execute projects in an effective and timely manner. This position is also responsible to lead, mentor and execute project and Kaizen work tied to key strategic initiatives. This position develops and executes the Belt and hourly training strategy so that those trained are most able to effectively solve problems in their daily work.

This position is aligned with the needs of the business in order to address the most important issues with the highest impact to the organization.

Role & Responsibility

Role Type: Manager

LSS, OpEx, TQM Strategy:
  • Shared responsibility for developing, communicating, and implementing the NAO Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Operational Excellence (OpEx), and Total Quality Management (TQM) strategy
  • Responsibility for LSS, OpEx, and TQM standards strategy across the organization
  • Execution of operations strategy aligned with LSS, OpEx, and TQM standards

Lean Promotions:
  • Accountable for site Kaizen plan to attack highest impact projects in alignment with site lead
  • Leadership, mentoring and execution of Kaizen activities and events that have a high impact to the site and corporate-level KPIs

Project Completion:
  • Responsible for identifying, resourcing and leading the most important cross-functional projects that have high potential returns and major process improvements, and are tied to key strategic initiatives for the organization
  • Accurate analysis, tracking, and standards development for financial impact of project and Kaizen benefits ($) that can be tracked and supported by finance
  • Lead functional/site steering committee(s)

LSS Training:
  • Responsible for developing and executing a training strategy to support problem-solving and Operational Excellence throughout the organization
  • Belt training strategy and leadership
  • Yellow, Green Belt training (resourcing, training, leading/co-leading)
  • Hourly lean training strategy and leadership
  • Ensure on-going proper use of tools through training and certification
  • Responsible for training and tool strategy to improve Kaizen, project, and belt quality and efficiency


Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Experience Required: 7+ Years
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivelant
  • Travel Required: 10-24%
  • Global Breadth: North America
  • Prior demonstrated quality improvement management
  • Strong demonstrated ability to influence
  • Ability to work with all levels of the company
  • Strong process orientation to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to develop, recruit and retain strong team
  • Ability to train in LSS processes/tools (lean, YB, GB, BB)
  • At least two years experience with profit/loss operations responsibility
  • Prior management experience of FTEs
  • Demonstrated strong analytical competency
  • Demonstrated ability to execute in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and demands
  • Prior experience with manufacturing processes
  • Manufacturing, engineering and/or quality experience is required
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, resource management, and project management is desirable
  • Experience with change management, standards development and Lean and Six Sigma implementation
