Pelican Valley Senior Living seeks an LPN or RN to join our team on the PM shift. The hours are 2pm-10:30pm and 32 hours per two week pay period. Starting wage for an LPN is $21/hour and RN is $27/hour plus experience and $1.50/hour shift differential on the PM shift. This position works every other weekend and holiday. We pay double time for holidays worked! We offer scholarships and student loan reimbursement! Pelican Valley Senior Living is a three building senior living community in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. We have a 33 bed care center, and two distinct assisted living communities that provide enhanced assisted living services and memory care assisted living. Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing nursing care to residents, including medications and treatment administration, documentation, and other therapeutic interventions under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Provides direction to nursing assistants and other clinical staff on unit/shift.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Provides nursing care to residents within the scope of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

2. Responsible for coordination and direction of resident care. Coordinates care and services with other departments/providers from the time of admission to discharge.

3. Assists Registered Nurse with completion of assessments, documentation, and data collection within scope of practice and acting timely on findings.

4. Administers medications and completes treatments as ordered. Observes and monitors resident’s condition and reports changes as appropriate. Ensures that all physicians’ orders are signed and implemented within specified time frames.

5. Maintains safety of all residents and employees. Responds appropriately to safety hazards and reports any issues to the appropriate person. Ensures that all staff follows the infection control policy and procedure.

6. Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing for the Licensed Practical Nurse program

• Current LPN licensure in the state of Minnesota.

• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience providing senior care or other related healthcare experience.
