Equipment Operator / Mail Delivery

Position Description:
Responsible for performing semi-skilled and unskilled manual work in the operation of the department; operate pickups, dump trucks, skid steers, loaders, and a variety of other light and heavy equipment and vehicles; perform semi-skilled work such as loading and unloading material with the use of powered equipment; perform unskilled manual work including the use of hand tools, snow blowers, tillers, lawn mowers; provide supervision and training of seasonal and part-time employees; perform unskilled labor duties, as needed and other duties assigned to the department to include snow removal, delivery, mail truck, removal of solid waste and general support for other areas within Facilities Management

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Two years related work experience using equipment and vehicles (i.e. tandem and single axle trucks, loaders, tractors and other grounds maintenance equipment)
• One year related work experience in maintain and repairing equipment.
• ND Class B Drivers License with air brake endorsement or equipment - must be in place or obtained within 6 months of hiring.
• Ability to be able to use computer for basic operations
• Good customer service skills
  *Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
*Ability to use motorized heavy equipment (i.e. front end loader, forklift, mail truck, sanitation truck, tandem & single axle trucks, tractors, skid steer loaders, etc).

Physical Demands:
Must be able to occasionally lift/carry 50-100 pounds.
