Summary
JOB SUMMARY: To provide professional, medical social work services for Rice Hospital patients/families in assigned inpatient and outpatient units/departments. The individual in this position practices medical social work focusing on patient's/family's psychosocial needs through assessment, discharge planning, patient/family education regarding available resources, advocacy, support and linkage to community referrals. Represents Rice Hospital on community boards, task forces and other activities assigned by the director. Is responsible for program development, evaluation and improvement in assigned clinical area.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Minimum of BSW with 2 years medical experience required, MSW preferred. Licensed by the state of Minnesota.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a medically related setting required.
